Investigators Tools (investigatorstools.com) is a free directory of public lookup tools, OSINT firms and trainers, and private investigator licensing bodies. It is run by a licensed private investigator. The site doesn't run searches itself, sell reports, or store records about people. You can reach us at contact@investigatorstools.com.
What we collect
- Nothing you type into the lookup box. It works out what you pasted inside your own browser. We don't receive or store it.
- No accounts, forms or tracking. We don't set cookies or run advertising trackers. Our host may set a strictly necessary security cookie to block abuse.
- Basic technical data, handled by our providers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. The page's fonts load from Google Fonts, which also receives your IP address.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us, we use your message only to reply, and keep it only as long as needed for that.
We don't sell or share personal information.
When you open a tool
Every tool listed here is run by someone else. When you select one, you leave this site. Some links carry your query in the web address so the other site can search it right away; others copy your query to your clipboard so you can paste it in. Either way, the other site receives what you search for, and its own privacy policy and terms apply.
Removal requests
This site doesn't host personal records. If information about you appears on this site, or you're a covered person under New Jersey's Daniel's Law or a similar law, email us and we'll act on it within 10 business days.

Using the site lawfully
- Don't use anything here to stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or to get information under false pretenses.
- People-search results may not be used to decide anyone's employment, housing, credit or insurance eligibility.
- Restricted records, such as credit-header data and motor vehicle records, require a licensed investigator and a legally permitted purpose.
- Follow the laws where you and the person you're researching live.
Third-party tools and listings
- We don't control the tools we link to. Their results can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and their availability and prices change without notice. We check links regularly but can't guarantee them.
- Investigators, firms, trainers and licensing bodies are listed for reference. We don't employ, refer or endorse anyone. Check a license yourself before you hire.
- Some links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
No warranties or legal advice
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Nothing here is legal advice. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for losses arising from your use of the site or of the third-party tools it links to.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
